Can you wear any style or certain ones?

Maybe because they are formed to the other girls feet?

One day some years ago I was in a downtown area running errands during the winter. There was still some snow around and it was quite cold out. I had seen earlier on the sidewalk nearby an almost new looking womans dark blue flat slip-on loafer-type shoe sitting on the sidewalk on top of the flattened snow. Best guess was a woman from one of the nearby offices had dropped it getting in a car the night before from where it was located. Two teenage girls were coming down the sidewalk toward it and when they got up to it they stopped to look at it. One girl slipped her shoe off right away and tried it on. It looked like it fit her pretty good and looked a lot nicer than hers. She was checking out how it looked on her foot and seemed pleased with it and then continued walking quite a few feet up the sidewalk with it on getting well away from her own shoe.

All of a sudden her friend picked up her shoe and took off down the street running away with it. The first girl now had a choice of leaving the shoe there and walking in one nylon stocking on the cold, snowy sidewalk or keep wearing her newly found warmer and nicer shoe. She was still walking up the street and was now at least 15 feet or more from where she had left her shoe. She watched her friend run for a few seconds with a puzzled look before reacting and then slowly ran after her friend down the street. A little later on as I was driving up the same street I saw the two of them about 10 blocks up and the first girl was still wearing her newly adopted shoe and her friend was now wearing the other girls black flat and was carrying her gray same style flat, that was real popular in the late 80's.

I often wonder if she was going to leave her shoe behind if her friend didn't pick it up and run away with it. Her shoe did look very worn out and she did start walking away from it for quite a few feet in the direction they were going after she tried the other shoe on and never even looked back for hers. Since her friend was wearing it now she obviously wasn't in a hurry to get it back, if at all, and I wouldn't be either and I'd keep the new one too. I also wondered if her friend took it off somewhere and left it to put hers back on if her friend didn't want it. Her new shoe was definitely an upgrade and not too different looking from hers. The look she had when her friend took off looked like she didn't know why she was running and didn't see her shoe in her friends hand. She may have run after her friend just to catch up with her. The world may never know, but since the shoe fit she wore it very well. I hope she kept it and wore it again, she looked like she enjoyed wearing it.
