Where I live, snow is on the ground, with more to come and no end in sight any time soon. Once it's melted, and it's warm enough, it back to walking around in socks!

It's fun walking around with just your socks on and I've gotten the same reactions as you have. It's amazing what just a small amount of non-conformity arouses in other people you meet! I like white socks and black socks also. It's a turn on.

Last summer I did a lot of walking around in socks, and thoroughly liked it. Usually I wore white socks, sometimes with a gray sole. In some places, where my shoelessness might be noticed, I wore black ankle socks over the white ones, to trick people into thinking i was wearing shoes when I wasn't. It worked every time. Reactions from others varied from "is he crazy" to actually meeting a "sole mate" or two, who was also walking around in socks. A site called My Sock Drawer (www.mysockdrawer.net) had a message board where other people bragged about going around in socks; unfortunately, that board is now closed.
