Shoes, socks or barefoot at home?

We have the same exact rules at my mom's house. About 12 years ago my mom started a strict rule that everyone had to now go barefoot at home. At first I hated it cause I always wore socks and if my mom saw me wearing socks she would take them away from me. She also didnt want dirty or sweaty socks on the tile. I got used to it though and I find it very comfortable. I actually do the same thing at my house now and my husband doesn't seem to mind
