and I did not vote. It is not a poll. Smoking is bad for kids, teens, and adults. I would never smoke, and it is the main thing that tears me apart from most liberals, that I would seriously want to outlaw tobacco altogether.

First of all, the last question made no sense. oh well. Also, what Winter said was absoluely right. we all have racist thoughts at times, although we're not all racists. At one point in your life, you've probably thought of mexicans as being poor, or Muslims being terrorists. We all know that that's not true, but your mind has image recognition. If someone says that Mexicans are poor, than, although you don't really believe it, your mind associates mexicans with being poor. This is a huge problem with the government of the U.S. Our government is brainwashing us, in a sense, by supplementing our image recognition. Muslims were behind 9/11, so sadly, our brain associates muslims with being terrorists. Our government has that recognition, too. They are making speeches and trying to make us believo that little voice in our head. I know many Muslims, and they are very peaceful people (ok, Ahmed is a bit hyper, but he's not a terrorist). Now, getting to Winter's other point, I am a white jewish male, and I do make fun of myself. Sometimes, I'll say that I have a big nose. Sadly, I think i've indoctrinasted my friend, and so sometimes I just need to remind him that you can make fun of yourself but not others. Also, I like jokes about women, but jokes about men are way better. Just don't take yourself seriously but be very careful about whose image recognition you might tigger or who you could indoctrinate. Because we don't want a monoreligious or racist society. And it's much worse if they are poiticians, because you don't want a religious or racist government.

If i'm reading what it sounds like, it seems like, it souns like that there may or may not be, but we need not waste our time on it. I couldn't agree more. I do think that, with the size of our universe (starting out with a positively charged ball the size of your fist), it would be improbable that there would not be a planet besides earth tht could support life. Its so big that we are egocentric to think that we are DEFINITELY the only ones. We are even more egocentric, though, to think for even a second that aliens (besides the illegal ones from Mexico) would ever visit earth. It is a huge universe, and there is no way that they could get here. Physics are physics, wherever you are. They have the same elements as we do, although they may have different proportions. The most egocentric of all, though, is that we sometimes believe that we could tsalk to them. There is not a chance in hell that they would ever by chance know english, spanish, french, Italian, latin, greek, russian, hebrew, arabic, swahili, zulu, or si'swati, among others. Also, we personify them and then some. We think of a dominant species that is super-advanced. If there even is a dominant species, than they mightnot even be as advnced as humans are now. There may not even be a dominant species. That eing said, we don't need to waste time on matters we will never figure out and won't matter to us. Scientists, figure out a way to get us to mars or something. Aliens don't matter to us.

I consider myself an an agnostic jew who tend to live life on the assumtion that there is no god (a mouthful when people ask my religion; I usually say Atheist-Agnostic-Jew). I can never really remember a time when I truly belived in an almighty power (although I do remember when I was little, I was mad that I never saw God when I was flying in an airplane, but for all I was concerned back then, God was just a big guy that sits in the sky and doesn't do much). People can believe what they want, as long as they keep it out of my government (I've put that on a lot of posts ltely!!!)

some people take the bible literally word for word. Bullcrap if you ask me, but they can believe what they want and I won't tell them they're wrong. However, the less religious christians and jews, among other faiths, take it to be metaphorical and interpret it as such. Some people (like me) even take it as far as to say that even god is a metaphor. Few people would actually say that genocide is okay because it says so in the bible. Most people belive some sort of metaphor in the bible in some way or another. Some is true. Ramses II is true, the slavery of the jews is true. Parting of the red sea, they think it actuall meant the reed sea which actually does "part" when the water level gets too low. People, belive what you want. If you keep it out of my government, I'm fine.
