Hi LimpBoy

It's possible that your dad already knows. Have you heard of dorsal nerve removal? It's an operation which leaves the $%!@ nearly numb and can almost eliminate erections. Some parents have it done to their sons because it's a less obvious alternative to a full penectomy. Considering your difficulty achieving erections it's possible that your dad had your dorsal nerve removed when you were young.

Thank you TinBoy14 and MattInSJ.

My younger son (now 10) had his penectomy last week.

I was lucky enough to find a doctor nearby who would do the surgery. Now, I didn't tell my son what I had planned for him because I didn't want him getting nervous and trying to get out of it. I just picked him up from school in the afternoon and drove to the doctor. He needed some reassuring at first, as I suspected, but once he was on the table he calmed down. After the catheter went in he was even starting to become erect. He would never complete his erection though as that's when the doctor started cutting.

I was amazed by how quickly the doctor worked. It must have been less than ten minutes until my son's $%!@ was off and he was stitched up. All the while my son looked exhilarated. I expected him to close his eyes or look away, but in fact he was watching intently the whole time. I'd be lying if I said I didn't enjoy watching too. The doctor removed the entire $%!@, root and all, so once he's recovered it'll look like it was never there.

My older son was shocked when he saw his younger brother without a $%!@. When we only talked about penectomy it was easy for him to put it out of his mind. To think of it as just an empty threat or a fantasy. Now that he's seen it actually happen to his brother the reality of it has hit him. He's taking his $%!@ion rules a lot more seriously now.

Regarding your sons TinBoy14, there's so much negativity around losing the $%!@ that a boy who doesn't want surgery would have no hesitation in saying he doesn't, whereas a boy who does would need a lot more confidence. So I think your sons' embarrassment is because they want it but they're worried about saying it. Don't wait until they gain the confidence to ask for it themselves because that could be never. Just get it done.

My boys are on a strike system with penectomy being the final strike. They reacted to this in very different ways. My 11 year old was nervous but excited. He wants to keep his $%!@ so he's happy to have the chance to prove he can be responsible with it. My 9 year old, on the other hand, seemed disinterested. I spoke to him later and he said he'd rather just have it removed now and not need to worry about the uncertainty of whether he'll be able to control himself.

Aaron, as long as you're in your parents care it's their decision to make, not yours. It may not be what you want, but your parents know what's best for you, so if they choose to have your testicles removed then you just need to accept that.
