Great poll! Re-posting my recent comment from a recent similar thread:
When I was 14 my parents caught me trying to sneak out late one night. School had just ended a few days earlier so they took away all of my shoes and socks and forced me to go barefoot all summer. I guess their thinking was it would limit my ability and desire to go out in public. And for the first couple of weeks they were right. Understand that until then I had never gone barefoot in public before except for a swimming pool a couple of times. I never gave any thought to going places without a shirt but I felt naked and vulnerable going any where barefoot.

I think anyone should be allowed to go barefoot in public as much as they want to. But forcing someone against their will, I'm not totally sold on that. My parents tried to do that to punish or at least restrict my movements. Keep in mind that they didn't just confiscate all of my shoes and socks...they threw them away and didn't buy any more almost 3 months later just before school started in September.
It's very hard for me to describe how anxious and helpless I felt during that first week of not owning any shoes or socks. Going barefoot in public was very new to me at that time.

The first week I was sort of nervous. I've gone places without a shirt before and never gave it a second thought. But I felt totally naked being barefoot in public. And knowing that I no longer owned and shoes or socks made me feel a little vulnerable and maybe even helpless. There was also a sexual element at play as a lot of my sexual fantasies involve me being barefoot.
