Posted in PSP vs. Game Boy Advance SP on 2003-09-19 20:26:17

Well, considering that Sony's announced portable gaming system the "PSP" isn't scheduled for release until late next year, how can I say it's better right now? Nintendo's Gameboy Advance SP is better than the Sony PSP since it isn't even out yet.

PSP will obviously be a much more powerful system when it comes out, but it won't be in just competition with the GBA line (for long). Nintendo will definitely fight back and release a new high-end portable system within a year of the PSP's arrival. The GBA line will still probably stay in production awhile after Nintendo's next portable system is released, since Nintendo will want success in the high-market while maintaining their grasp on the low end portable market (which they have with the GBA line). Many people (especially kids) won't be able to get the high end Sony PSP or Nintendo's next (high-end) portable system because they will simply cost too much (for some time at least).

Considering Sony's track record, they should have some very good success in the high-end portable gaming market, unless Nintendo responds back with something better within a short amount of time (a few months). Nintendo will definitely stay in competition though (as I explained above). We will have to see what happens.

The first results for elimination should have been added on as a notation to the original celebrity choice (Mike Jackson) instead of onto another poll choice for the same celebrity. What is the point of that? Interesting poll by the way.

It's very early into the poll, so I wouldn't count on the results too much yet. The men's results seem to be pretty much in line (realistic). So far all the womens votes are for the highest selectable bracket. I'm sure that there are some women that fall into this group, but it would obviously be the minority of women (same as with upper bracket for men). There has only been a few womens votes, so it could just be it's only women very seriously into weight lifting who are answering. Remember that this poll is meant as a comparison of your strength to others in your group (age/gender). Not another "Who's stronger? Boys or Girls" crap. I say that because I get the feeling that in those type of polls, females exaggerate their answers to try and make the men look like weaklings (girl power! icck). Please answer honestly people. That goes for both Men and Women!

Right. I like women to have shapely calves, but I think to say "Yes, Huge, Bulging and vascular the better!" is pretty ridiculous. People responding to this poll must have a unusual muscle fetish for women or they are just being "silly". Large and muscular calfs are fine on women, but too much muscle on either sex looks freaky beyond a certain point (the female who made this poll sounds fine though). I agree that the selectable calf responses seem biased towards those men with large calfs. I have an opposite muscle distribution compared to any of my friends. They have more upper body strength and muscle than me while I have more in my legs. I am a fairly slim guy (especially upper body), but my legs and calfs are bigger than any of my male friends (my calfs are pretty "ripped" too). 14 1/2 inch calfs. Keeping in mind that none of us do any real working out (once in a great while, but we don't keep with it). I think my calfs are at least average in size for a trim male adult. I'm within the ideal weight for my age and height, I'm 21 years old, approximately 150 pounds, and 6 feet tall. My friends legs (and calfs) are probably below average in size, but I'm certain that they are still within the normal range. My biceps are actually a lot smaller than my calfs (only 11 1/2 inches biceps), because my upper body is naturally quite ectomorphic (skinny, no fat and not a lot muscle, fairly "ripped" though). I should probably start seriously working out on my upper body (have been planning to for a while but have never gotten into a routine).

========== In Reply To ========== I like toned, well shaped calves on women. Good shape and muscularity can be sexy, but not too muscular. There should be at least some degree of "give" to remain feminine in my opinion... if I wanted rock hard, veiny boulder-like calves like those displayed in some heavyweight professional female bodybuilders, those are things I'd more likely find on a man.. lol. Your range of calf sizes for men went from 14 to 22 inches.. meaning that you may consider the average man to have 18 inch calves. Not to sound like a nitpick, but considering that most men's upper arms are slightly bigger than their calves, a man doing this survey would need to have a 19 or 20 inch bicep to be realistically considered to have average sized, 18-inch calves. ;)
