Myself

I've known that I have had ADHD since grade 2. I am on meds for it too. They stopped with the meds for about 2 months, but my behavior during school and at home weren't like they used ot be. So they put me back on them.
I don't mind taking teh meds though. I rather do that, then get into trouble every week.

my teacher last year, always sent me out of class. But I guess, looking back now, I do deserve it. I never did my work in class, and when I did, I did it english, because I didn't know the spanish answers. It was a spanish I class.

Our class was set up in rows looking at the board, and we just got new seats. My seat was by this one 8th grader who loved seeing me get into trouble. The first day we got our seats, I got moved to the "BSD" seat. Which is the Bad Student Desk.

The teacher was never at her desk, and I would get away wiht playing with my iPod and no one would see.

But, still, the teacher would sen dme out of class when she say me talking. I was almost never in class.

And if you get sent out of class to another teacher's room, and then get sent out of that class, you know you are dead meat. It's happen a few times.

But, lucky, this year, I don't have that teacher this year!!

Posted in Is suspension an effective punishment for students? on 2006-06-21 00:12:50

no

being suspended isn't a good punishment for student. When I'm at home, I never do my work. Having a student being at home, chances are, that he/she wont do the work. At least during in-school-suspension, a teacher can make sure you do you work.

At my school, we had a alternative to out-of-school-suspension. Studentes grades IMPROVED during the time they were in the OOSS room.

When a child get suspended, they have the computer, the tv, iPods, ect. to play with at home. At least in school, they don't have all that to play with.

Also, the parent(s) might not have some way to watch their suspended student, (if they need someone to watch them).

I've pulled a few pranks myself. There is this one prank that got some laughs from teens and adults, but not from the school.

At my school, if a teacher isn't here, and there is not sub. teacher, that class reports to the gym. I decided to put a sign on the door of my spaninsh class. (the teacher and I don't get along at all!!). My whole class reported to the gym!! I was shocked it worked. The 7th grade head leader was called down, and we were all sent back to class. She had about 1/2 hour to find out who did it. Turn out, she knew who it was from the beginning. She told me to get my lunch, and I ate in the office.

I got 2 Saturday Schools from the 7th grade head. And the teacher made me stay after class for 4 weeks (the rest of the 6 week block). I had to write and do the work I didn't do in class. And if I had nothing else to do, I wrote. She thought about the hardest and weirdest things to write about.
