Hi My name is Rebecca. I am 16 yrs old and I attend a strict all girls private school in the northern UK. Here is a complete description of the winter uniform at our school: Plain straight grey skirt :to be worn no more than 2 inches above the knee Bottle green blazer with red trim and embroidered school logo on the left hand breast pocket Long sleeved white Oxford-style button-down shirt with stiff cuffs and collar Neck tie with green and gold diaganol stripes - MUST BE COMPLETELY STRAIGHT AND FULLY KNOTTED AT THE TOP BUTTON OF SHIRT AT ALL TIMES Black opaque tights (70 denier) One inch heeled black leather school shoes with laces ( no T-Bars!) White felt boater hat with school logo and bottle green band just above the brim

For our summer uniform we have to wear this hideous white and light blue checked cotton dress with five large dark blue buttons down the front which I think makes me look like I'm still in junior school.We also have to wear white knee socks in summer as well as the mandatory boater hat and leather lace-up shoes As for underwear we are also required to wear school issued white ctton panties with elastic band around waist as well as full-cupped white bra -also school issue. I've been told that any teacher can conduct a uniform inspection at any time however I have only seen this happen to 3 girls during my 4 years attending this school.Also the inspection of undergarments can only be conducted by female teaching staff. Jewellry is to be kept to a minimum - only one set of ear rings is allowed and they must be either studs or standard size sleepers ( no large hoops etc).A cheap watch may be worn on the wrist.So absolutely no facial,tongue or navel piercings are allowed although I have noticed a couple of girls have worn their tongue piercings to school on the odd occasion and they seemed to have got away with it ( by hardly talking in class?) One student in my maths class even stuck her tongue out at the teacher whilst she had her tongue bar in place and the teacher just gave her a really menacing scowl but apart from that he took no further action,Also I've noticed one older girl with a small tattoo just above her backside whilst I was in the sports change rooms - as far i know she was never punished or expelled because of that. Has anybody else who goes to a strict private school worn their body piercings to school and got away with it or have you been caught and reprimanded? It is just a straight grey skirt ( not pleated) for PE we wear a tracksuit in winter and shorts and white T shirt in warmer weather.No we are definetely not allowed to wear trousers and we MUST ALWAYS wear black tights (70 or 100 denier)Socks are not part of our uniform.
