Danny Padilla should have been the 1981 Mr. Olympia.
I was there.
Sure he was light like Frank Zane, but he was still the best one on stage...ripped to the MAX! Franco had smooth legs and won, while Danny legs were ripped to the bone!
Mostly he was ripped off, as he was awarded 5th place.
Makkawy and Rick Wayne were two of the other greats that should have been Mr. Olympia. Makkawy beat Haney in pro shows. He's been ripped, has massive arms and is a master poser.
LEE PRIEST is easily the best these days, but like the others on this list.....he's SHORT and Joe Weider doesn't like short people, besides Franco.

Larry Scott?
You got to be kidding me! ha ha ha
Larry "Mr. Mega Ego/Hey wanta see yet another picture of my arms" Scott is an old timer with light legs.
I can only guess that Mr. Scott stayed up until the wee hours voting for himself countless times...
Zane and Dickerson are two others that should never have won. One can only guess that Weider hand picks who he wants to win.
Why? To keep selling magazines, why else...JUST FOLLOW THE MONEY TRAIL.
To keep magazine[and other sales] alive Joe alternates between black and white Mr. Olympia winners. I predict the next winner will be white.
Coleman is the best so far, but he's not everything the BB writers make him out to be. What's the big deal about him? It's like the radio DJ's saying such-and-such band is sooo great...tell us WHY! Mostly hype, because no one wants to read dull BB [contest] reports.
Zane and Dickerson were lightweights and Dickerson has small/lumpy arms and a growth on his elbow. Hardly Mr. Olympia material!
