Posted in Do you think cheerleading is a sport??!?!? on 2003-02-08 00:22:57

COMPETITION, not a sport. So then you may say, "Well, if it's competition, then it must be a sport!"

Not so fast. Playing one on one on NBA 2K3 on my Xbox with a few friends is competition. It not, however, a sport.

Besides, without sports, there WOULD BE NO CHEERLEADING. Simple as that.

Same results, every single time. Stop it. It's annoying.

Also, where did you get the idea that the average fourteen year old girl is taller and stronger than the average fourteen year old boy? Sorry to break it to you, but look at highschools, please. The freshman girls (and Sophomores.... it evens out a bit more in the Juniors and Seniors, IMO), the girls, on average, are MUCH shorter. Yes, men have stronger upper bodies. Yes, women usually have better endurance and speed when they TRY(many girls in all schools have to keep this "pretty girl" image, who are scared of any ball or puck in any sport coming their way. they also do not run AT ALL). Yes, it's easier for men to build muscles.

However, in response to someone who stated girls are brighter in schools: this is false. While the graduation rate is higher for girls than guys (I live in Arizona, and not to bring race into it, but 70% of all dropouts are Mexican), from my understanding at the facts that I have seen with my own eyes, boys have been getting better scores on standardized tests. However, no sex is smarter. They both have equally the same opportunity to become very intelligent as the other.

Some of the brightest people in the world today are women. Some of the brightest people in the world today are men.

Serena and Venus Williams could own almost any male tennis player.

Women are better listeners. Men have better eyesight.(Like my quick fact!? :D)

But here's the real question: WHO CARES? Why should we have to make POLLS about this preposterous subject? Seriously, after reading all the crap I've just read, I've felt OBLIGATED to come here and voice my opinion.

Stop the sex wars. No sex will ever win nor lose. They're both equal when it all comes down to it, so who cares!? Jeez.

How is Amare Stoudemire NOT on the rookies list? Come on!!! And why are the Raptors on the NBA Championship list, and not a team like the Suns who have at least the slightest chance, rather than the Raptors who have NO chance? Same with the Clippers.
