The answer to "why Republicans oppose abortion" is very simple and clear. I don't know why it wasn't one of the choices. The Republican party is "pro-life" because they've been bought and paid for by the religious right (religious wrong is more appropriate). Christian churches funnel huge amounts of money to the Republican party AND strongly urge their members to vote Republican so they can enforce their values on the American people. I know this is a fact because I used to belong to these types of churches and I saw it over and over. I was repeatedly told to vote for a certain candidate (always a "pro-life"/anti-gay Republican). When I found that my donations were being used to fund hate groups and restrict my rights, I stopped giving and eventually left the church altogether. One church even funded a clinic (with my donation money) that posed as a resource for unwanted pregnancy but was in fact an anti-abortion clinic that emotionally harrassed young women into giving birth to a child they couldn't care for. I can tell you firsthand that it's far better to die in the womb than to be born unwanted and into a life of poverty, mental disease/alcoholism, child abuse, etc. If you think abortion is cruel, try looking at unwanted children and how they have to live. If the "pro-lifers" would spend as much time, effort, and money on caring for all the unwanted children, we'd eventually see less abortion. After all, a child with emotional scars & poverty is more likely to have an abortion later in life. It's a terrible cycle that needs to be stopped, not by laws but by ending the cycle of child abuse/neglect. That's my opinion.

I don't like him because he tries to force his religion down everyone's throat, he's a control freak, and he's stupid (jumping on a couch yelling "I love this woman"). I seriously doubt that his marriage will last because he's so demanding and controlling of Kate AND I feel sorry for his new baby. I'd hate to have a husband or dad like that!!
