I can imagine how frustrating and humiliating it must have been to be strapped in your baby reins. Did you have the urge to try and get out of them? I suppose that would be the natural reaction. Did you tug and pull on your reins to fight the harness? Your plastic pants and sandals must have only added to the embarrassment. I too wore leather reins,but only up to the age of 12. i hated wearing them and tried every time to get out of them. But the straps were secured in the back out of my reach. I also was leashed in the yard. My yard leash was about 20 ft.long. i was tied to the patio post.I was in full view of the neighbors and neighbor kids. They would tease me about my "baby harness" and leash.

My harness was brown leather with a chest strap that held the two shoulder straps together. Unlike you,the leash was a doggy type leash. My mom would shorten it up if I pulled a lot which I hated. I too wore plastic pants over a disposable diaper or pullup which made me feel very embarrassed.
