JFK is far from being the best president of the 20th century. The fact the he had numerous adulterous affairs is not to his credit. Oh, and by the way, he started Vietnam.

A good poll, but...
I think this was a good and well cunstructed poll. but it shows the ignorance of the voters. I think they did a good job picking the best presidents (with a few exceptions). As for the worst presidents, I think the voters were way of thir mark. Now I don't think Bush is the greatest president, but he is definitely not thew worst; and I don't like Clinton, but he was not the worst either. The worst presidents were the ones between Jackson and Lincoln who did nothing to prevent the Civil War and stop slavery, and we had a bad streak between the two Roosevelts, who tried to go around the first world war and did nothing to help the falling economy (leaving it up to FDR). The biggest black-mark the voters did well on, although I don't think the Trail of Tears was that bad. As for the foreign policy, I think Washinton had the best, which was to stay out of the affairs of foreign nations, but the Roosevelts and Reagan did a good job aswell. For the domestic policy, the two Roosevelts and Lincoln were the best. Other than these things, this poll was very good.

I don't think Reagan was the greatest president, but was definitley a good president, and the best of the group offered. Its hard to beleive you thik spending money on the military is pointless, the miltary is the most important thing for a country, without it, the country would get run over. Increasing military spending caused recruitment to go up, making the country safer. He did not abandon the poor, he didn't gie them handouts. Give the poporer people handouts is a sure way to keep them poor. It doesn't get them to work and make money for themselves, which is what Reagan tried to do. Reagan did not sidge-handedly win the cold war, but he played a signifigant role. It it weren't for his diplomatic success, the cold war migt be still going on. Who do you think is the best of those presidents, Jimmy Carter?
