Diana, how old are you and what kind of cane does your mother use, how thick and long is it? You could suggest her to bend over the armrest of a couch or over a table, bottom raised by a wedge shaped bolster, so your bottom is well presented to receive the strokes and you can focus on the strokes and not on the position.

there is another girl in the forum (amy97), who has to get into the same Position.
Your mum sounds very strict. My mother also caned me in the 80ties in germany, normally i had to bend over the armrest of the couch , so it was easier to hold the position..
-Can you ask your mum to use an easier position for your punishment? -Doesnt she use a flexible rattan cane for you? This normally does not break. -and which length and diameter does the cane have?

yes, the crop is used like a cane (but normally dry and on a dry bottom), I think a good caning is even ab bit worse.

I think in the UK caning is still a littlebit more common. At what age did she start caning? For me it was 13. which positions does your mother use? I had to bend over a desk or over the armrest of the couch.
