I know what you mean about why animals are probably better. I can't believe that anyone would suggest using acid for something like that. The other forum wich mentioned got taken down due to hackes, but if you wanted to chat about other things, I have an account for this forum: http://www.tacticsarena.com/forum/memberlist.php (I'm using Tempest Fennac as an alias on this forum).

What does that have to do with the arguement? Besides, at 1 point humans were often classed as property, and I don't see people using that to justify the amount of cruelty which was involved with the slave trade.

As I said, I'm completely in favour of sterilising animals, but as far as I'm concerned, methods which don't result in hormornial side-effects should be used.

I know what you mean about paganism and about animals only killing out of necessity. (Admittedly, I tend to be closer to dogs then humans, and dogs seem to like me). I suppose there could be cultural reasons why males are less likely to have vasectomies in America (it's hard to tell what the reason is).

I'm sorry about being confusing about my religious beliefs (what i meant was that I don't belong to any organised religion). Most of my beliefs are pieced togather from what I've heard from animal communicators (as far as I can gather, animals are more spiritually aware and intelligent then humans, and I'd sooner be a wild canid, equine or hyena rather then a human). As far as I can gather, we agree to do various things before we are born in order to learn things, and this may involve reincarnating as animals (it's a bit confusing in this area: Penelope Smith said that transmigration is common, but Amelia Kinkade said that souls tend to stick with 1 body type based on their personal preference). I also think that there is some truth to the idea that the universe is basically an illusion. I don't have any ethical problems with eating animals due to how (as far as I can gather from a lot of the articles on http://www.mercola.com/) a lot of humans need meat to be healthy, but I'm completely opposed to the idea of factory farming (as well as blood sports, animal testing, fur, etc.). Admittedly, I can't wait for synthetic meat to become a reality due to how it would eliminate the need to kill any animals for food (http://www.theglobeandmail.com/servlet/story/LAC.20060327.MEAT27/TPStory/?query=meat+starter+cells). I agree with you about the King James Bible: I know that he also retranslated "thou shan't suffer a poisoner" as "thou shan't suffer a witch" in order to justify his anti-witch campaign. I'd say that your theory about the Bible is probably right. What's interesting about what you said about the Catholic Church and birth control is that Pope John Paul I was apparently planning on allowing birth control and redistributing the church's wealth when he was murdered (the theory is that ultra-concervative Catholics were responsible). Your probably right about patriarchy being responsible for the attitude that females should be sterilised rather then males (why do a lot of male humans get so worked up about the idea of vasectomies anyway?). If you want to continue this conversation in private, I'm registered on this forum: http://www.wolfhowl.org/forum/index.php?sid=959118632794b3f4b1f30a7200a380db (I would give you my e-mail address, but I don't want anyone else to get it).
