Posted in Was Charlotte Proudman right to complain on 2023-12-26 18:32:18

It's amazing to me how often women can get offended by compliments. Even if she thought his remark was unprofessional she still should have been able to recognize it as a compliment and either ignore it or just respond "Thanks, I appreciate it" and move on.

There was no need to try to turn the incident into an example of misogyny because it absolutely wasn't. It was an incident of a guy being a bit unprofessional on a website that's meant for work and business, but his comments were still directed at a woman's photo in which I'm SURE she attempted to look as attractive as possible. He commented that she succeeded in being attractive and then she got offended. It was just silly on her part.

The problem with the poll is that the question in which you can't vote has been set to required, meaning that it's impossible to submit answers for the other questions because the poll demands an answer to that one as well.

As for the actual subject matter of the poll...I don't know the full story but I assume that boys at a high school created and circulated a list to rate the attractiveness of the girls in the school. Funnily enough, that's exactly how Facebook got started. Mark Zuckerberg and his friends created a website to rate girls at their campus and it ended up functioning so well that they expanded the concept and turned it into Facebook.

It's not dangerous to the girls that the boys at the high school made and passed around this list unless those boys wrote down their desires to assault or attack the girls, and I doubt that was the case. It was likely just boys expressing and sharing their normal heterosexual attraction to female bodies and that should neither offend nor worry the girls on the list.

Any girls pretending to be scared or offended by what the boys did are probably just virtue signaling feminists who perpetually believe they're victims of the "oppressive patriarchy" that has provided every single good thing to them in Western society.

Bump

New polls have been added to the bottom of the list. I really wish the spam bots had stayed away from this website so that people could actually use this forum to find real polls. Oh well.

Alex, I wonder how you felt about those clothing rules. Did you agree with them? I think it was a good decision to encourage you to dress in feminine clothing such as dresses and skirts, and it was healthier for you to remain barefoot than to have socks on, especially in warmer weather.

I agree and think girls are more likely to show their feet, either by wearing open footwear such as sandals or by staying barefoot more often at home. I'm not sure of the exact reason why, though.

Maybe girls are just more comfortable with their feet than boys are, or maybe girls feel as though having exposed feet is more feminine? Either way I think it's good and healthy for girls to be barefoot when it's practical.
