I don't think it's going 'too far' for middle and high school students not to want to be forced to shower communally after PE. Students could have a number of reasons to be sensitive about being nude in front of others, whether because they've been abused, they're transgender or questioning their gender identity, they have a religious objection, or simply because they're self-conscious about their body. There is no sound educational reason for schools to require something that could be psychologically damaging to students like that.

I think taking your shoes off during the wedding would be a little slovenly, depending on where it was held.
