Hey, thanks for the comments. I thought I'd make a poll that was just a bit different. I plan on making more polls similar to this so watch for them :).

Friend, assuming that such a thing were to happen (hypothetically) the Church would lament that so many of the faithful had apostasized over one Church teaching and would pray for their return before they die and have to face Christ on judgment day having rejected his one true Church.

I wonder how the catholic church would react if people, particularly women felt so stongly about the issue that they left the church in droves. You would see ordination of women in a snap. Not true. The Catholic Church does not have a higher percentage of pedophiles. In fact, studies done show the percentage of pedophiles to be about the same in all religions and in all occupations. Also, most pedophiles are married men. The reason the Church is getting so much attention is that the media hates the Catholic Church. Baptist, Lutheran, Anglican, Jewish, and other leaders and teachers and pastors are accused all the time and its often covered up, usually by relatives or persons close to the situation. Its just not as newsworthy as the Catholic Church.

Anyone who abuses a child should be held accountable. It just so happens that the Roman Catholic Church has a higher percentage of paedophiles than most organizations.
