Dracula. I generally think Orlock is the cooler, but Dracula has the guy beat on smarts and experience.

Freddy. I think the answer is obvious.

Tarman and Bub. They've either got no blood left or they don't need their blood, plus Bub can use weapons, Tarman is nigh-unkillable and both can survive in the sun.

Hannibal. He's got both strength and smarts.

Cropsy. Again, though I like Pamela more, Cropsy has one up on her with sheer strength

Pinhead. Leprechaun has powers, but Pinhead's powers are like 10x what the Leprechaun has. Even if those chains aren't wrought iron, Leprechaun can still be torn to bits like he was in "Space"

Butterball and Chatter vs The mummy and The invisable man

Butterball and Chatterer. Same reason as in the Pinhead vs. Leprechaun fight. Imhotep and Griffin may have powers and advantages, but the cenobites have huge durability (at least) and loads of weapons and bloodlust

Human Jason vs Zombie Jason vs Uber Jason

Uber Jason... yeah... makes sense, doesn't it?

Now for the 666 match Damien(from the omen) vs Regan(from the Exorcist)

I'd say Regan. damien might be the more powerfully demonic entity, but Regan's possessor had more physical power in her form.

Now for the final fight. Jason Voorhees, Michael myers, Leatherface, and Pamela Voorhees VS Freddy Kruger, Pinhead, Chucky, and Leprechaun vs Damien, Regan, and The Demonic Toys Vs The puppets Vs Alien, Predator, Terminator and Robocop Vs The five classic universal monsters. I chose the action/scifi team, with team Pinhead coming in a close second. I've already said why Pinhead pwns (as he would with most of those teams, along with Freddy with Chucky and Leprechaun being backup/taking out smaller opponents), but I think that between the Predator's arsenal and pain-enduarance vs. Pinhead's cenobites, plus the Alien's lack of dreaming giving it the edge over Freddy (and the other two on team-pinhead probably being dead by that point), Pred, Xeno, Murphy and Ahnuld would probably manage a win.

I liked the poll pretty damn well, entertaining if nothing else.

1970 - Out of those I've seen, the most well-done is "Crystal Plumage"... Not one of the best, but well-done

1971 - Duel. Not really horror, but well-executed suspense. Phibes is a good second choice but doesn't epitomize the genre that well.

1972 - Frogs. All pretty cheezy/exploitation-y, but Frogs attempted to have a creepy, slimy sort of atmosphere that the others I've seen didn't go at too well

1973 - Ashamed to say I haven't seen The Exorcist, so I went with Theater of Blood instead. Great horror comedy with entertaining undertones

1974 - Texas Chainsaw Massacre, the perfect horror film. Black Christmas is a contender for it's villain alone, but it doesn't come close to TCM in other departments.

1975 - Deep Red. Not perfect, but it had some of the scariest kill scenes put on screen.

1976 - Carrie. It's just great how despite not much scary happening throughout the film, the suspense is maintained until the shocking end. I will concede that "Omen" is a good contender and I am pretty happily surprised to see the less-known "Sundown" getting so many votes (Not that well done IMO, but it does have some extremely suspenseful attack scenes in the latter half)

1977 - Suspiria: great atmosphere and great suspense. The Hills Have Eyes was pretty bland in the horror department.

"Magicbest horror film of 1978" - It may look like magic, but I think the best horror film of '78 made it into your question ;) . More people should know about Magic, it's got great horror alongside a great plot!

1979 - Close call between Phantasm and Tourist Trap; Both mind bendingly original and creative... But, I give the award to Tourist Trap for being scarier.

1980 - Maniac. The scariest thing about F13 was the killer. The killer was scarier in Maniac, and in addition to that what he did was scarier than the events of Friday the 13th!

1981 - A very nice year for horror, I picked The Evil Dead though I think The Howling is very worthy of the top spot too.

1982 - The Thing. A lot of films on that list were very enjoyable, but The Thing was the best mix of "enjoyable" and "well-made"

1983 - Not as many hits here to me. I say Cujo takes the top place here considering Videodrome despite how creepy it was seemed made more as action/scifi

1984 - 1 "really good" one here, and that's Nightmare on Elm Street.

1985 - Tough mix of gory-$%!@ stuff here, but I picked Return of the Living Dead, which to me was the best mix of horror and comedy

1986 - Kinda mediocre selection, I picked The Fly

1987 - I liked Hellraiser and The Lost Boys, but I'm a sucker for Dolls, plus, it's the underdog :P

1988 - Monkeyshines. Underrated brilliance and just as good as "The Dead Trilogy". Child's Play also good, but not as good if you ask me.

1989 - I''m a big fan of the Puppet Master series, but I can't forget about just how much freaky and effective imagery was used in Pet sematary.

Great poll, great selection. Excluding sequels helped my decision process so I give you props for that.

Okay, even though I don't think Michael should have made the last round, I do think he would fare better on the poles against Jason. Jason is faster and heavier, and thus would have a harder time controlling himself on the ice, especially if the ice is thin. Though Jason has more power, Michael might trap him.

Best of the eliminated? It's $%!@ing gotta be the first guy out, no question about it; THE TALL MAN's got more strength, more brains, and better weapons than just about everyone else that stayed after him. Coming in second and tied for third would probably be Pinhead then Leatherface and the Predator: Pinhead's a high-ranking demon, and is usually damn near indestructible, 'nuff said. Then on the mortal plane, Leatherface has got the speed and power a lot of slashers lack, plus he's too dumb to "play by the rules" so to speak whilst still being more civilized than Jason. Predator has even more power and agility then Leather but he's hindered by limited vision and his hunter's code, which as I said, leaves 'em tied IMO.
