Hi Emily

Welcome to Lisbon! It is very hot here even with some light breeze. I have been here so often that I am staying on board this time. Andrew has gone for a walk along the promenade area but I expect that he will soon be back.

I am so glad that you are both feeling better. No doubt you will soon be fully fit again. We must go to Southend one day. I can't remember ever visiting that city but my parents told me I went there when I was about 3.

I hope that you get an insurance payment for your missed holiday - you should do. Your afternoon tea sounded special but probably not the same as being away.

I expect the Lionesses cheered you up - everyone was watching on board - the main show lounge was packed and there were smaller screens elsewhere. Such a cheer when England scored, a sombre atmosphere when the equaliser came, then tension until an eruption when the winner went in. The bars did very well that evening but the evening meal sittings went to pot!

I hope that you have something planned for the next week as the weather forecast is good. We are now heading to Gibraltar.

Today - white casual top, short (for me) light blue skirt, bare legs, cream sandals. Smart casual tonight but I've not decided what to wear yet.

I expect that you are in another casual summery outfit.

I am sorry for the delay in posting but I couldn't get into the site for a few days.

I am so sorry that you could not enjoy your birthday but pleased that you are now feeling much better. Did you manage to celebrate your anniversary with a trip or a lovely afternoon tea?

It is a relief that the temperatures have cooled down after those 40C highs. At least we do get some sea breezes! We had some rain when we were around the Scottish Islands and it was misty. No problems in tendering though which can be an issue there. I have not had to refund people for cancelled excursions for a while now! Few Covid issues on board. I think a few people have had to isolate in the sick bay but not that many luckily.

We do use Dover but not that often. Southampton is the main terminal but there is also Tilbury, Harwich and a few others such as Hull and Liverpool used occasionally. I think the main issue was check ins for the ferries and Channel Tunnel.

We are now preparing for Portugal, Spain and Gibraltar.

Andrew is looking forward to the Lionesses match this afternoon (I will probably see it as well if I can). There will be a big screen in the show lounge and no doubt it will be packed. The Commonwealth Games highlights have also been screened.

Today - Uniform to welcome new "clients" shortly - Black jacket, black skirt, opaque stockings, black flat shoes.

I expect we will get married one day but while we both work on cruise ships we can live closely together without the expense of a home. If we changed jobs we would probably buy a house and then get married.

I do have a uniform which I wear on most days - white shirt, neck tie, black blazer, black skirt or trousers and black flat shoes.

Hi Emily

A quick post from Dublin to find out how you both are. I hope that you are now showing signs of recovery. People I have spoken to seem to be unwell for about 3 days with a sort of flu like symptoms then fairly quickly recover.

It is such a shame that you have missed your holiday but I am sure that you can arrange some lovely days out. Steam railways are very popular at the moment.

There are real problems at Dover at the moment. Extra passport checks following Brexit, insufficient staff and the busiest holiday weekend. I am just glad that I am not on a continental coach trip! It is important for people to get their travel documents in order well in advance.

Anyway today - white shirt, black trousers and black flats - OK for running around on the quayside. Tonight - smart casual and I am thinking of my blue background floral dress, white cardigan, thin stockings and white sandals. Andrew will probably have an open necked shirt (to avoid a tie) and smart black trousers.

Hi Valeria

I help to organise trips for people when the ship visits ports in the different countries. It is an interesting job as I get to see different countries as part of my job. My boyfriend, Andrew, was lucky to get a job on the same ship. He looks after payments and orders supplies.

We are in Ireland today but it is now cooler 20 C. I did not like the high temperatures earlier in the week, although it was a little cooler on the ship with the sea breezes.

Yes, I do wear stockings - but I have had bare legs for a few days as it has been hot
